Woke up at about 5 to get our flight to Venice. Got the train to Gatwick airport which was super convenient and easy to figure out. Got through without any troubles then realised our seats weren’t together so asked the staff if we could change seats. She laughed and said that we’ll be right. We get on our plane and there are 37 people on the whole plane and we are asked to sit in the emergency exits. The flight attendant said that most people cancelled their flight the day before due to corona virus so we were happy to have the space. Nice short 2 hour flight and we were there. We then get a bus and a boat to our hotel which is just off the water and it’s really nice and spacious. We dropped all our stuff off then went to find some lunch. We got a little place called Ginos where I got Gorgonzola gnocchi and Chris got a pizza. We tried ordering coffees at the same time but we were told no, they’ll come after our meal. All delish!! We then have a walk all around town exploring then took our first gondola ride. It was amazing and one of the best experiences. Such amazing weather, so relaxing and able to get a tour of the whole city whilst squeezing in between streets. Had an early night ready to explore more tomorrow.

Day 2 - exploring London
Woke up nice and early and went for a 5km run around Hyde Park and got to see some great sites such as the amazing pond with bulk swans, the palace where Queen Victoria was born and many amazing monuments. We then had a full English breakfast in a cafe at Hyde Park which was just what we felt like after a run. Then back to the unit for showers. Then we headed to the Tower of London which was very epic with its history and listened to the Yeoman tell us all about it. We then met Chris’ cousin Luke who moved to London 2 weeks prior and met him in Mayfair which is where we discovered why it’s the most expensive place on the monopoly board. So many rich white guys. We then headed to the sky garden where we got a full 360 view of London and it was also a bar. We got a cocktail each and wondered around this huge sky garden then headed home and asleep by 8pm for our early flight tomorrow.
Day 1 Arriving to London
Arrived in London at about midday with a pretty good flight. Went straight down to the underground and pulled up at Hyde Park Corner where we had a 15 minute walk through the park to our air bnb which Chris and I barely fit in but will do perfect for the next 2 nights. We instantly decide to just explore around by foot. We walk past West Minster which Chris keeps calling Minister. We then go past Parliament House and see the poor excuse of Big Ben. We then decide to walk around and see what the line is for the London Eye. No line so we buy a ticket and we’re on. Being very windy and very jet lagged, it didn’t feel great at the top but as expected, great views and we decided we needed a drink to fix our vertigo. We go to a pub nearby on the water for burgers and beers then a short walk to St Paul’s Cathedral and Uber home by 7pm and ready for bed.
